Pimples on Buttocks
A few weeks ago I noticed a few scars in my buttocks. Then a few days ago I felt a few pimples on buttocks that were a bit painful. I tried to pop them, but couldn’t. Can it be acne? But I have not heard of anyone having acne in their backsides! Do you think it’s some kind of skin infection or could it be something more serious? All the information you could provide will be very helpful as I have just started a relationship, and this can be very embarrassing.
Buttock breakouts or pimples on the buttocks are annoying and yes, often embarrassing. These pimples can break out at any time and go away without any treatment. However, once it heals they leave a scar in your buttocks. This is a common problem although very few people will talk about it in the open. Most often, these breakouts are caused by certain types of bacteria. However, the exact nature of the cause of these butt pimples is not known. Poor hygiene, stress, junk food, food allergies, toxic excrement etc are all considered as contributing factors to such pimple rashes.

A carbuncle is larger than a boil and has more than one opening that will drain pus onto the skin. This is caused by a bacterial infection. In addition, there are infected hair follicles. This is called folliculitis. This can occur anywhere in the body that has hair. An inflamed, pus-filled boil with a yellowish tip is the normal characteristic of an infected hair follicle. Any one of these types of pimples can appear on the skin and some can bring annoying discomforts.
Who can get Pimples in the Buttocks?
Pimples on buttocks are most common in people who have limited immune resistance. This means if you are suffering from any medical condition that makes your immune system weak, you can be susceptible to get butt pimples, as well as, other diseases. In addition, age, hormonal changes, personal hygiene, medications and stress may cause these pimples. It is highly advised not to break the pimples as this too will spread the infected puss and fluid to other parts of the skin and will also leave behind bigger scars.
How to Treat Pimples in the Buttocks?
There are so many treatment creams and lotions and medications for pimples. However, sometimes these medications may aggravate the bumps on buttocks. There are several home remedies that can be tried to reduce the pimples. These include using hot compresses and taking “sitz baths”. Sitting in a hot tub of 6 to 8 inches of water for approximately 20 minutes every day will help to reduce the pimples. You can add two cups of Epsom salt to the bath too. If these remedies do not work, consider obtaining medical advice.
How to Prevent Pimples in Buttocks?
It is not always easy to prevent the onset of pimples on buttocks. However, there are a few methods you can use to ensure that your rear area stays free of butt acne.
- Always use clean towels
- Try and wear loose clothing as much as possible
- Wipe your rear thoroughly once it is washed
- Boost the immune system by taking two capsules of garlic 2-3 times a day
- Eat healthy
- Improve on personal hygiene
- Avoid the use of strong smelling detergents and soaps
Dealing with butt acne can be frustrating. However, consider these methods, and you will find that the bumps on the buttocks are lessening. The scares too will disappear pretty soon.
